ABOUT ME

My name is Kathryn and I have been sewing and creating for over 25 years and I love it.

My Mum was always sewing when I was young and I was forever looking over her shoulder at what she was making. I would then go back to my little "Singer" hand wind sewing machine to make clothes for my dolls and teddies. Later on I made clothes for myself, my family and still do.

I began my working life in hospitality travelling the world (and thank goodness I did because I wouldn’t have met my lovely husband otherwise!) Then, I worked in a bank for 5 years. Meanwhile, the boys came along and we both decided that I would stay home and be there for them both. That’s when the creative juices really started to flow. I opened an Ebay store (now closed) then an Etsy shop (http://myshabbycottage.etsy.com) and now here I am with my own Website. Thanks to my husband who helped me build it.
